Orla Kiely SS24 Photoshoot
With SS24 well underway, we spoke to our Creative Producer Bella about all things SS24.
"This season's bags are full of strong graphic prints and pops of colour. We wanted this shoot to express the delightful joy of colour and print with a hint of Orla's signature vintage beauty. This message was echoed in the elegant styling which included tulle skirts, a floral brooch, floaty dresses and an embroidered collar that was crocheted by Orla’s mother. The hair and makeup followed more of a 70s approach which is another one of Orla’s inspirations. I would say beauty was a dominant factor in this shoot with pastel backgrounds and flowers playing a significant role in the shots."
"We are very fond of mid-century locations, but we thought for this spring-summer campaign we would explore a more antique setting. This led to us finding The Artist House, a beautiful Georgian house in the Kent countryside. The house is truly a whimsical wonderland which worked very well with photographer Bex Day’s aesthetic."
"My favourite shots are the ones on the rainbow stairs, I think they not only emulate the colourful personality of the brand but help emphasise the graphic prints. In terms of this season’s bags, I would say the new Axis Tote in Flower Polka Dot Olive is the winner! It is the perfect work bag as it fits so much in it, I love Orla’s signature four-petal flower print, and the olive colour adds just the right amount of colour to any outfit, I also love the pop of pink by the zips to add a girly touch."
